Char Dham Yatra Registration Guide

The Char Dham Yatra is a pilgrimage to four sacred Hindu temples i.e., Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, and Yamunotri nestled in the Garhwal range of Uttarakhand. And if you are planning to visit Char Dham or Hemkund Sahib in Uttarakhand then it is mandatory to complete the Char Dham Yatra registration before undertaking the pilgrimage.

The Uttarakhand Government made it compulsory for every devotee to register for the Char Dham Yatra. After completion of the registration process, all pilgrims are issued a Registration Letter which is to be used later at the time of verification.

Modes of Char Dham Yatra Registration:-

1:- Online Mode – Through government’s Online Web Portal or through its Mobile Application

2:- Offline Mode – By physically visiting the specified locations through kiosks or handheld devices handled by qualified staff, Yatri Mitra

Online Char Dham Yatra Registration Process:

It is faster and more convenient to do Char Dham Yatra E-Pass online rather than standing in long lines for manual registration. All tourists must have a mobile phone number, email address and one of the following forms of identification: Aadhar Number / Voter ID / PAN / Driving License or Passport for Char Dham registration. Also, be cautious while filling in your details.

Step-by-step guide to help you through the online registration process:-

Step 1: Go to the official website of Uttarakhand Govt. Char Dham Registration portal.

Step 2: Click on the “Register / Login” button on the top right corner of the page to get to the Char Dham registration application form.

Step 3: Then fill up all details in the “Register Yourself Here for Chardham Yatra and Hemkund Sahib Yatra” form correctly and click the “Sign Up” button.

Step 4: Next you have to complete the OTP verification, a code will be sent to your mobile number and an email. After entering the code click on “Verify OTP.”

Step 5: Then Login with your mobile number & password.

Step 6: After this, a personalized dashboard will be displayed, where you have to put in Pilgrims’ information.

Step 7: Now click on the “Add/Manage Pilgrims and Tourists” button and then The Plan your Tour page will open.

Step 8: Click on “Add New Tour.”

Step 9: Now fill up all the tour details asked in the form correctly like tour type, tour duration, no. of tourists, mode of travel to the Dham, etc. And then click “Save.”

Step 10: Now a new window will open showing the tour that you have created just now.

Step 11: Then click on the “Add Pilgrim” button and The Registration of Pilgrim/Tourist form will open up.

Step 12: Now fill up all the details of the tourist i.,e, name, age, gender, mobile number, address, etc make sure to fill in all the information correctly. Also, you have to upload a passport-size photo of the tourist and a scanned copy of photo ID proof as well. Size guidelines will be mentioned on the page itself.

Step 13: After completing the registration process, a unique registration number will be sent via SMS, and the Char Dham registration letter can be downloaded.

Note:

The Char Dham registration process is free of charge.
Pilgrims must keep their Registration letter PDF or the received SMS on their mobile during the time of the tour.

Offline Registration Procedure for Char Dham Yatra:

People who want to do offline registration for Char Dham or do not have the access to the internet can go for the offline registration process. The government has listed various locations for Physical Char Dham registration. In Uttarakhand, there are 14 registration counters. You must travel to any of the locations and wait in line for registration. Here, is the list of offline Char Dham registration centres in Uttarakhand:-

Make sure to carry ID proofs like an Aadhar card, Voter ID card, Driving License, or Passport and Mobile/Phone Number with which you want to register.

Mode of Verification:-

Verification will be done physically only at the pilgrim site mentioned in your tour before you check in. Yatramitra will verify the SMS, scan the QR Code in the mobile app or download the “Yatra Registration Letter.”
