Places to visit in Kedarnath Dham

  • Yamunotri

Yamunotri Temple, which honours the goddess Yamuna, is located at a height of roughly 3,291 metres in the western Garhwal Himalayas. You can visit various tourist attractions close to the Yamunotri temple, such as the Surya Kund hot spring in Barkot and the Divya Shila rock pillar, which is worshipped before entering the holy Yamunotri temple. 

  • Gangotri

Both tourists and believers are drawn to Gangotri by its strange and devout vibe. The magnificent temple is a 20-foot-tall white granite building. Other excellent temples in the area are the Bhairavnath and Vishwanath temples, in addition to the Gangotri temple.

  • Kedarnath

The “Lord of the Kedar Khand” signifies Kedarnath (mountain region). In Kedarnath, Uttarakhand, the temple of Lord Shiva is situated close to Mandakini River (India). If you are traveling to Kedarnath, you can visit nearby places like Vasuki Tal. The lake, Triyuginarayan Temple and Guptkashi will make your trip more memorable.

  • Badrinath 

Badrinath Temple, which is devoted to Lord Vishnu, is located close to the Alaknanda River and perched on the Garhwal hill slopes. It houses a Lord Vishnu idol made of black stone. There are 19 tourist spots in Badrinath where tourists can spend their leisure time, such as Pandukeshwar, Mana Village, charan paduka, Mata Murti Temple, Narad Kund and many more.

How To Reach:

To visit Char Dham, one needs to reach  Haridwar or Rishikesh. These places are closest and well connected with all 4 Dhams.

Char Dham Yatra Route Map –

Haridwar – Rishikesh – Barkot – Yamunotri – Uttarkashi – Gangotri – Guptkashi – Kedarnath – Rudraprayag – Badrinath – Joshimath – Rishikesh – Haridwar.

By Air – Jollygrant Dehradun Airport is the nearest airport located 55 km from Haridwar and 20 km from Rishikesh. You can hire cab to reach the Rishikesh or Haridwar. From here, you can take cab to visit Char Dham. Else, state buses are the only option for Char Dham Yatra. We also offer pickup and drop services from the airport in our Char Dham Yatra tour packages.

By Train –  Yognagri Rishikesh Railway Station is the last station for trains in your Char Dham Yatra. From here you can take cab and state runned buses to complete your Char Dham Yatra.

By Road – Rishikesh ISBT is the nearest bus stop that is connected to all motorable routes to Char Dham.

The Char Dham Yatra can take around 10-12 days to complete. If you have extra time you can visit other attractions as well during the tour such as Auli, Chopta, Hemkund Sahib, etc.

From 25th April 2023 Onwards, Pilgrims can plan their Char Dham Yatra. As the doors of Char Dham will start open from the same date.
