Best time to For Do Dham Yatra:
The gates to the temples open from May till mid-November. The winters are chilled and all the pathways are most likely to be covered in snow. Hence, there’s no access to roads during winters. Thousands of pilgrims come to these holy shrines to take blessings from the Gods and Goddesses.
Itinerary For Do Dham Yatra From Haridwar:
Day 1: Haridwar To Rudraprayag
An after-morning drive to Rudraprayag via Dev Prayag. Check into the hotel and visit the place. Visit the Rydranath Temple, or spend a calm, breezy evening near Alaknanda and Mandakini Rivers. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Day 2: Gaurikund to Kedarnath Trek
Gaurikund is the starting point for your trek to Kedarnath. Drive to here, and start your journey towards the first step of salvation. Visit the temple and devote yourself to the God of Gods. Witness the Aarti dedicated to Lord Shiva. Pay your tribute by making the homage at the temple for a night if you wish. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 3: Kedarnath to Rudraprayag
Have breakfast at the hotel and trek down from Kedarnath and reach Gaurikund. Drive down towards the Rudraprayag en route Guptkashi. Relax for a night. Check in to the hotel and have dinner. Stay a night there.
Day 4: Rudraprayag to Joshimath
Drive to the Joshimath after the morning breakfast at the hotel. On the way, visit Karnprayag, where Alaknanda and Pinder Rivers meet, and Nandprayag, where Mandakini and Alaknanda Rivers meet. Have lunch at the restaurant, then head to the Joshimath. Visit the Narasimha Temple and the Oldest Tree (approx. 1000 years old), named Kalptaru. Check-in to the hotel and stay overnight.
Day 5: Joshimath to Badrinath
Have a refreshing breakfast at the hotel and head for Badrinath. After 3-4 hours of drive, check-in to your hotel and go to visit the different places. Visit the Last Village of India- Mana. Later, come back to be a part of the Aarti at Badrinath Temple, dedicated to Lord Vishnu. Come back to your hotel, stay overnight.
Day 6: Drive back to Rudraprayag
Witness the mountains at their prime during the sunrise early in the morning. Take blessings from the lord and drive back to Rudraprayag. Visit the village and explore the market and other places. Later on, check-in to the hotel, have dinner and go to bed.
Day 7: Take Your Leave!
After having morning breakfast at the hotel, you will head back to the departure point, Haridwar. If time allows, visit Rishikesh and explore the market and temples and ashrams. Rishikesh is the Yoga capital of India and the best spiritual study centre. Then, head for Haridwar the same day and you’ve reached the endpoint of the trip!
