Located in the valley of the Kedar dome mountain range, Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, Kedarnath is at an altitude of 3,583 meters (11,755 ft) above sea level. Kedarnath By Air: You can reach Kedarnath directly by air travel. But you have to make some changes in your air travel Routes. First of all, reach Dehradun Jolly Grant Airport for Kedarnath, this airport is well connected to 11 major air cities of India. After reaching Jolly Grant, you can book any local taxi or cab from here and reach Dehradun Helipad on Sahastradhara Road. This helipad provides heli service to Kedarnath, whose air route is from Dehradun to Sersi, Kedarnath, Sersi, and then back to Dehradun.
Kedarnath By Road: To reach Kedarnath first, you reach Delhi, take a bus from Delhi (ISBT) to Haridwar / Rishikesh, or book a taxi. Book a bus or taxi from Rishikesh / Haridwar to Guptkashi. After reaching Guptkashi, book any local taxi to Sonprayag or Gaurikund. After Gaurikund, no vehicle goes further to Kedarnath, so you have to walk to Kedarnath (15 km).
Kedarnath By Train: The nearest railway station to Kedarnath is Rishikesh Railway Station. You can reach Rishikesh from Delhi via Rishikesh / Haridwar Junction. Book a bus or taxi from Rishikesh Bus Stand to Guptkashi. Book a local jeep from Guptkashi to Sonprayag and trek from Gaurikund to reach Kedarnath.
