The best time to visit Shivpuri is between October to June (winter and early summer). Since adventure and other activities in Shivpuri get delayed during the rainy season, the monsoon month is not considered suitable for visiting Shivpuri.
Shivpuri is located in Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand state at a distance of 254 km from Delhi and 16 km from Rishikesh. There are three ways to reach Shivpuri :-
By Air: The nearest airport to Shivpuri is Jolly Grant Airport Dehradun, at a distance of about 40 kms. This airport is well-connected to all the major cities of India. After reaching here, you can directly book a cab till Shivpuri.
By Train: The nearest railway station from Shivpuri is Yog Nagri Railway Station Rishikesh, about 19 kms. This station is well-connected to major cities of West-North-East India like Haridwar, Ahmedabad, Agra, Haldwani, Chandigarh, and Moradabad. After reaching here, you can hire a local taxi or rent a bike or scooty to reach Shivpuri.
By Road: Rishikesh is the main bus station of Shivpuri, which is situated at a distance of 19 kms. This bus stand is also connected to India’s central Bus Station (ISBT) located at Kashmere Gate in Delhi, as well as cities like Haridwar, Dehradun, Roorkee, Chandigarh, and Moradabad. After reaching Rishikesh, you can reach Shivpuri by auto rickshaw or taxi.
Once you arrive in Rishikesh, Shivpuri is located 16 km from there. So you can either hire a local taxi or get bike / scooty rentals services to reach Shivpuri.
The best time to visit Shivpuri is from October to March (Winter Season). As the weather is sunny and favourable for all adventure sports in the town.
